From October 16 to 18, 2018 ASSOPELLETTIERI and MIPEL went to Seoul for the fifth edition of the exhibition-event “MIPEL Leather goods Showroom in Korea” that took place at Park Hyatt Hotel in Gangnam.
The showroom that was organized thanks to the precious support of ITA- Italian Trade Agency and Ministry of Economic Development got bigger.
A group of furrier’s companies of AIP-Associazione Italiana Pellicceria and TheOne exhibition, flanked the 28 leather goods companies expanding the overview of the leather products and showing the care for details typical of Italian know-how.

More than 450 korean buyers attendedthe exhibition, such as BINASCO, CJ HOMESHOPPING, DUO TRADING, GALERIA.COM, GS HOMESHOPPING, HYUNDAI DEPARTMENT STORE, KOLON, LF, LOTTE.COM, LOTTE DEPARTMENT STORE, LOUIS QUARTORZE, METROCITY, SAMSUNG, SHILLA.
In the occasion of the event was presented the special co-lab project between leather goods companied and emerging designers who realized four capsule collections: Arcadia and Irma Cipolletta, Cromia and Michele Chiocciolini, Claudia Firenze and Annalisa Caricato, Tucano and Laurafed. These partnerships testify the meeting between creative inspiration and craftsmanship, tradition and modernity, innovation and functionality.
No less important was the leather goods trends presentation in the special “TREND AREA”, in which were shown some leading products that showcased the “beautiful and well-made” of Made in Italy leather goods.
Thanks to the collaboration with UNIC – Concerie Italiane, visitors could touch all the different leathers and take a close look at their features and the manufacture. The set-up of this space was entirely conceived to create a meeting point between the public and the raw materials from which generate the bags.
Of great interest, for buyers and journalists, will be the round table, which will have the theme “Technology and leather goods application”.
Great enthusiasm for the “POP UP ” project with which were sold lot of leather bags and accessories. It was organized in two of the most prestigious department store: Hyundai Coex (October 18/19) andHyundai Pangyo (October 20 to 25), as the proof that the Italian leather goods product meet perfectly Korean tastes.
