The seventh edition of the MIPEL Korean appointment ended on October 17th. Approximately 550 buyers attended the event held at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul; visitors met a selection of Italian leather goods companies (more than 30 brands) appreciating the SS2020 collections. Worth noting is the presence of very important department stores such as: Lotte, Shinsegae and Hyundai.
The brands that exhibited their collections are:AFG 1972, AGATA HANDBAGS, ARCADIA, AURORA PRESTIGE, BOLDRINI SELLERIA, BONFANTI, CASA DELLA CINTURA, CASTELLARI, CHRISTIAN VILLA, CLAUDIA FIRENZE, COSTANZA ROTA, CUIR ROSE, DE COUTURE, FONTANELLI, GEMINI, GILDA TONELLI, GIORGIA MILANI, INNUE’, LANZETTI, MARCO BIANCHINI, MARCO MASI, MAURIZIO TAIUTI, MOLIABAL, NELLO SANTI, PIERO VIA PALAGINA, PLINIO VISONÁ, PULICATI PELLETTERIE, RIPANI, ROSSOMENTA, SUPREMA. VITTORIA FIRENZE.
In addition to the exhibition formula already appreciated in previous editions, a new way of presenting the brands was adopted which aroused great interest from the buyers: the “storytelling”. In fact, a series of live presentations on the brands were made: stories that revealed the unique stories and characteristics of each product. This new way of communicating the collections has been definitely appreciated by the Korean sector operators, demonstrating that now the reasons for the purchase go beyond the concept of the Made in Italy still considered an added value but no longer sufficient on its own: we must also know how to tell about ourselves and have interesting product stories (from processing methods, to the procurement of materials, to production techniques, to the use of sustainable materials or processes …).
Danny D’Alessandro, Assopellettieri General Manager, explains: “With the initiatives organized in Korea and Japan Assopellettieri intends to preside over, inform and share opinions and ideas about the future with the operators of two of the main outlet markets for Italian leather goods. The Korean event “Mipel Showroom in Seoul” is a consolidated event, now in its seventh edition, thanks to which the Association is able to provide an excellent service to member companies in the area that they are most interested in: doing business. The “Mipel & TheOne – Made in” event is based on different bases. It is an experiment: with the friends of TheOne, thanks to the contribution of the Lombardy Region, the idea was born to create a training / information platform between the Italian trade fair organizers and the market in which to discuss with buyers, transfer information, create moments of deepening – for example on the free trade agreement or on sustainability – and explain to buyers what the value of Italy is as a producer of ‘beautiful and well-made’. This means making association today ”.
