Last April, at the IED headquarters in Turin, started a project that saw MIPEL collaborate with the European Institute of Design. Nineteen students of the second year of the Jewelery and Accessories Design Course were involved in a particular and challenging contest: designing and creating in collaboration with MIPEL an iconic bag on the Urban theme.
MIPEL has met the students several times, providing them with useful indications and ideas – including next season’s fashion trends – on which to base their creative research. In the operational phase, which lasted about 2 months, the students created the bags and backpacks for the men and women SS 2019 collection. All the products were sewn entirely by hand in the IED lab in Turin.
On June 20 the students presented their projects at the MIPEL offices in Milan. These projects will also be exhibited at the IED booth in the next edition of the fair (from 16 to 19 September 2018), where a jury made up of experts in the sector will decide which of them are the best ones.
